“Sometimes the easiest way to solve a problem is to stop participating in the problem.”
~ Jonathan Mead
There is no end to suffering, but there is a way to transcend above it. The struggles, the conundrums, the chaos, the multiple-choice questions to any situation, and the sorrow – they’re all the real deal. Which battles to pick, and which ones to leave behind, that’s up to you.
But I ask, rather than trying to solve a problem, can you deem it powerless, and rise above it all? What if you could make a problem so inconsequential that it fails to have a hold over you?
There are internal and personal conflicts one faces as a hashtag#leader. For instance, you are conflicted by the uncertainty of the hashtag#growth of your hashtag#business. You are not sure if your business will succeed tomorrow or even if your job will survive. You start to wonder, ‘what more can I do to make sure that my business continues to grow or that I can hold on to my position?’
You are likely to become more anxious and this anxiety gets projected onto other team members and hashtag#employees. Now, everyone’s anxious and is working in an environment not conducive to their and your growth. As a result, what was once peaceful is now a ball of fury – your inner core.
“Obsession is the single most wasteful human activity because with an obsession you keep coming back and back and back to the same question and never get an answer.”
~ Norman Mailer
We all know the story of Buddha’s two arrows. The first arrow, when it hits us, causes actual hashtag#pain. However, it’s the second imagined arrow which is the cause of hashtag#suffering. Similarly, most of the so-called problems are imaginary. Yes, there are transactions to resolve in our life, but assuming them to be a problem and obsessing over them is like the second arrow and the cause of our suffering. The way to tackle the second arrow is through awareness. Acknowledging that they were all imaginary in the first place. The moment this reality dawns upon us, we rise above and transcend all our problems. We then have taken a step forward from being just a leader to becoming a true hashtag#legend.
